ARCTIC WOLF BLANKETS
CASE SKID STEER LOADERS WITH COOL AIR

Ingersoll, ON: At the recent Mobile Air Conditioning Society (MACS) Convention, the country’s leading industrial/mobile air conditioning show, Hammond Air Conditioning demonstrated the installation of their latest addition to the line, a totally integrated air conditioning aftermarket system for Case Skid Steer Loaders. This latest system is designed specifically for the 75/85/90 and 95XT Skid Steer Loaders. In 2002, Hammond Air Conditioning introduced a separate system geared towards the smaller units (40/60/70XT).

The machine on the show floor was provided by Briggs Equipment Florida, one of the country’s largest Case dealers. “They provided us with a unit with low hours, but it had a cab enclosure,” said Jeff Lemon, Hammond’s Senior System Designer. “Briggs has indicated that the Arctic Wolf system will make the operator much more productive than a similar machine without air conditioning.”

The Arctic Wolf system features a 20,000 BTU rating and a CFM of 300. It is designed with a 7-cylinder Sanden compressor for smooth operation, a fan-cooled condenser to improve airflow and uses an Aeroquip hose for increased flexibility and reduced diameter. Like all Arctic Wolf systems, the air conditioning kit is packaged with everything required to install the system, from the condenser to the right number of nuts and bolts. The skid steer kit is available in 3 different configurations: air conditioning only, heat only or a combination kit.

The ceiling mounted controls and louvers in the ductwork provide the operator with plenty of cool air on the job site as well as ease of accessibility for all switches.

According to Hammond, this product line extension was driven by customer requests. “We are finding a greater demand all the time to provide skid steer loaders and other mini-equipment like excavators and wheel loaders with systems capable of keeping the operator cool all day. Contractors report that cool operators are less stressed and more productive year round. Our job has been to find ways to work in these very enclosed areas,” said Lemon. Hammond Air Conditioning sticks by their motto that if it has a cab and an engine, they can or have built an air conditioning system for it.
